The Pupil Premium (PP) is an allocation of funding provided to schools for supporting specific groups of children who are vulnerable to underachieving. These include children who are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM), those looked after by the Local Authority (LAC) and the children of Armed Forces personnel (AF). At St James’ we are firmly committed to ensuring that all children regardless of their background are entitled to meet their full potential both academically and pastorally.
Pupil Premium Funding is therefore used to tackle disadvantage in order to reach the pupils who need it most.
St James’ CofE are funded Pupil Premium @ £1,320 per pupil for those whose families have registered for FSM. Each school may decide how best to use the funding and they are held accountable for how it has been used to support pupils from low income families.
Details on how St James’ CofE plans to spend this years allocation of funding can be found below. Please note this is a live document and may be updated throughout the year.
